History of changes to web site
Note: Some of the change summaries are lost forever as a result of my attempt to automate history file generation. You'd think I'd learn from that, but I'm naturally a slow learner, so I'll probably continue to attempt automation and to lose history data thereby. Who knows, maybe someday I'll get it right.
Version 061101
- Added about 150 more fossil sites
- Cleaned up County data for fossil sites except in Canada and Alaska
- Added hit counters to home page
- Validated some pages to W3C-HTML 4.01 Transitional
Version 061201
- Added about 150 more fossil sites
- Cleaned up some Canadian County Info
- Added separate pages for County and PLSS discussions
- Converted all the remaining English (mile,feet,yard) distance info to metric (probably missed a few)
- Made some progress on validation of external links
- Made some progress on validation of pages for W3C-HTML compliance
- Validated some additional pages to W3C-HTML 4.01 Transitional
- Brought up a second copy of the site at 110mb.com because freewebsitehosting has taken to deleting the two large files of fossil site data.

Version 0907
(Jun 2009) As usual, folks who have been here before won't notice many differences. There may be a bit more unpublished fiction. There are about 450 new fossil sites. Usage of fields 8 and 9 -- additional comments and references should be largely fixed. A bunch of new latitude-longitude values for sites have appeared. I'll also be adding discussions paleontology of various regions -- working East to West starting with the Canadian Maritimes. There are now four -- Meguma and Avalonia, Maritime Provinces Cover Terrane, and Iapetus Seafloor.
